Pilocytic Astrocytoma in Conus Medullaris in an Adult: A Case Report

Pilocytic astrocytoma is a rare glioma, seen predominantly in pediatric population and young adults, within first two decades of life. This often located deep midline structures such as brainstem cerebellum. In this tumor occurs supratentorial location. It frequently misdiagnosed mistreated. However, being low-grade with excellent prognosis, if diagnosed correctly, it can be successfully treated by surgery only. We report case 45-year-old male adult patient conus medullaris who complained numbness pain the limbs incontinence urine bowel. The radiology showed sharp mass, which was provisionally glioma surgically resected. On intraoperative imprint cytology, reported glial tumor. Histopathological examination confirmed diagnosis astrocytoma. under follow up doing fine.
